Connie: Wow, I just was reading the comments and didn't even notice the "Karaoke Showcase". Mark, I don't think I've heard you sing this before, and you wrote it in 1993? Or just got the copyright recently? Very impressive singing, guitar playing and the mix. My ears are very happy! Good to have you back!
Reply: Hi Connie, thanks for asking! I wrote this song in 1993 when I was in a band; we used to play it out in the local bar scene. I copyrighted it that year, too... and it was released on our demo tape. I submitted a cassette copy to the Library of Congress as a Performing Arts Copyright, but the sound quality wasn't very good (even though Joey and Dan could blow me away on guitar and bass). I just got done playing it myself & submitted it as a Sound Recordings Copyright this year. Thanks very much! |

Connie: Oh, now I see you did put up some songs! Fantastic to hear you again, Mark. Is this an updated recording from the last one I heard? Excellent!!
Reply: Hi Connie! Thanks so much! Nah, this is the same recording you heard last time around. I got your PM... it's good to see you're going out & getting some singing done. Like I said, I really loved the way you did Mummer's Dance & I hope to hear more from you soon! Thanks again! |
Sheree |
Connie: I see some old timers on SS today! :) It was so great hearing you sing this Sheree! I've always like this song and you did a great job.:)
Reply: Yes, feels good to visit our old stomping grounds. I hardly recognize the place anymore. Thank you for commenting Connie :) |

Connie: Reminds me of dancing in the bars decades ago.:) Your cover was very good! Fun to listen to. :)

Connie: Fantastic job! This is a great old rocker that I remember well. :)
Reply: Thanks, I may do it again someday I made many mistakes after listening to it again |

Connie: Enjoyed very much, Steven! I never heard the unplugged version for "Lights" before. That was nice with the piano playing. "Love Hurts" is a song I've actually wanted to try but never got around to it. Mine would be very gentle and ballad like, though. :)) As expected, yours rocked with lots of emotion and grit!

Connie: I enjoyed BOTH songs, Steven. :)) I really wanted to hear you sing "Let's Dance" the most though; I was never a fan "the Walrus" song. lol Terrific use of effects on both songs, along with your excellent renditions.
Reply: Hi Connie, the walrus song is in a musical class of itself and has artistic musical qualities that are an acquired taste like a fine wine!LOL and anything Bowie is just plain awesome! Thank-you very much, hope all is well! |
Gilly |
Connie: Very pretty, Gilly. I like your voice a lot. You have a very beautiful tone plus, you sing from the heart. You sold me the song. :)
Reply: Do I get a buyer?! Yes! SOLD for 50 cents!. It's YOURS Connie!:)
Thanks for the listen- not a serious post, just a blast from the past- and kind of a complete FLIP from my other post that sounds all put together and stuff. Cuz I didn't do the work:) |

Connie: Yes, ROCK on SS! Thank you, Steven! :) It was very fun hearing your version, I do think this is the first male one I've heard. Kudos to you! Great job on a particularily (in my opinion) hard-to-sing song. It always gives me fits! :)
Reply: Hi Connie, yes I agree this song is difficult especially for a male!LOL Very cool you liked it thank-you! |
