Can't believe this. Two fab tracks from the best band that ever there was and no one has released karaoke tracks. Help! (It's OK...I've got that one.)

Whoops! Spoke too soon. I just found this on Karaoke-Version.

I checked out karaokeversion on this song but they don't have it available as a karaoke video track. All they have available is a backing track so far. If you need some help getting a CDG file made for it, send me a PM.

But I'm wondering...of all the karaoke tracks built by people like you and me, why aren't they being shared around? Copyright issues? If so, the newly created CDG file surely isn't subject to such restrictions. So it could be freely distributed...couldn't it?

Any copyright lawyers out there who'd care to illuminate?

I won't distribute anything I made simply due to copyright/publishing laws. Anything I create is for my shows only.
Plus - and probably the main reason, why on Earth would I want to share something only I have? If another kj wants it, they can buy the instrumental & take the time to swipe it themself!

Someone will eventually try to sell a hard drive loaded with songs to the wrong person and I don't want my home made songs turning up on that drive and prompting some lawyer to file a law suit against me for selling songs that I didn't license properly. If I keep them to myself; I don't have to worry about that scenario.

As soon as you start sharing someone with an eye patch eventually gets them and shares them with the world for free and the lawyers think that you sold 100,000 copies of their copyrighted song and they want their piece of the pie. If there are only a handful of copies around, you probably don't have to worry about it too much but, like Lonnie said, It's best to keep them close to the vest in these days of karaoke lawsuits being filed willy nilly.

I understand where you guys are coming from. I tend to forget that you are mostly professionals whereas I only do karaoke within a group of friends in a domestic situation. I think I'd feel the same way in your shoes.
