There are versions of Let It Be Me available but they are all the Elvis version.

Actually, there are at least two versions which are in the style of Jerry Butler and Betty Everett. Best version in my opinion.

I listened to that on Youtube. Yes, it's nice. But then, a song is so much more than a song. It's a time, a place, a special person who shared that time, place and song with you. Mostly, the version of a song you hear first is the one you take to. In my case, I first heard The Everlys' version and I like it best. Those soaring, perfect harmonies never fail to lift me back to the 60s and all the wonderful music that was around then.
Regarding the other Everlys song, 'Like Strangers', I managed (almost entirely) to remove the vocals from the original recording and use Karaoke Song Builder to construct a karaoke file. This will be entirely for my own use so I believe there are no copyright issues.

He was asking for a specific version, maybe one that means something to him specifically - not what sounds best to your ears. That's like saying the best version of Don't You Forget About Me is Billy Idols version when they really wanted Simple Minds version for their own reasons.

If you read my post properly you would have seen the key words "in my opinion" directly after the "best version" statement. I was not trying to dictate the best version of a song, but offer another available version since (a) someone had already suggested where to find the Everly version and (b) he had said previously that all the versions he could find were Elvis.

Anyway, I have found another Everly Bros version of Let it be me on this site by DK karaoke

Good point, I would agree with that also. Often the original version (be it first you hear or first released) is the best. There have been covers of songs I've heard years after another and preferred them, but they are generally the exception, not the rule.

Anyway, good luck in getting all the songs you're after. For "like strangers" Karaoke-Version may be your best bet.

'Please Remember Me' by Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt is, in my opinion, the best version of a truly beautiful song. But I can't find a karaoke track for it. I've found those by Rodney Crowell and Tim McGraw but they just don't stack up. Tried Google but it comes up empty. I just don't believe it!

I am looking for a version of Meat Loaf's Objects In The Rearview Mirror (May Appear Closer Than They Are). I own every one that is available. All versions out there only include two verses, the first and the third verse. The third verse would make much more sense if the second verse was included. Please, make a version with all three verses? Please?

Also, I have a want for the sound track for the movie Across the Universe made into Karaoke. I have crazy amount of requests for those arrangements. Please, on those songs also.

THANK YOU!!!

If it was me-and I really, really wanted that extra verse-I would insert a patch into the mp3 file with Audacity then redo the whole thing in Karaoke Builder Studio. Done it before with another song. 'S not too hard.

I just may grab that so I could at least sing it here on SS....though would be nice if there was an actual CD+G that could be played at local karaoke shows too. :)

You could put it on disc (if your kj's can play discs) and bring just the audio. I have people do that still on occasion and they have either memorized the lyrics or have a printed lyrics sheet they made up.

If anyone know of any songs within this thread that have been made - either instrumental or graphics version, let use know so we can weed out those songs and shorten this list.
Thanks
