My friends family is considering paying the balance of thier settlement off, my question is what happens after they pay the balance and have "done right" by PEP?

What should they expect to happen once it's paid off?

That should be laid out in the terms of the settlement. Regardless, have your friend call or email PEP.

Chris is right...if there is something in the settlement agreement that specifies what is to be done, then that would govern.

If there's nothing to the contrary in the agreement, the general policy is to treat such a person like any other existing customer. We don't generally hold a grudge.
