Please tell me that you didn't "upgrade" this forum to make it the same as General Forums- because for the last several days working with it is showing the same symptoms:

1) The text doesn't appear at the speed that I'm typing- and I'm a SLOW typist. I have to sit back and wait for it to catch up.

2) there is now a much longer wait after hitting the submit button

3) Pages load MUCH slower.

Though changing to the quick/mobile site on GF worked, several functions were lost, and it was akin to using the old 80's BB sites.

Please note that this is only happening here. I no longer use the GF site, and all my other forum sites are working fine.

What's happening?

I think it all the ads that are loading on the page at the same time. I've noticed the slow down and have watched as things load and the ads are slow loading thus slowing everything down.

I guess its what we have to put up with to keep the site free for us.

Actually this site loads faster than many sites. The server is running at optimal levels.

I am uncertain why you are experiencing the difficulties but I will presume that is caused at your end by your computer settings - it maybe as simple as clearing the cache.

I just finished running a diagnostic on the server and all is above par?!

I have not noticed any slow down of the site itself. Although there is at times a slight lag before the cursor shows in the reply window. But, no lag here when typing.

Nothing is slow on my end But again, how can it be when you're using Firefox along with Adblocker and NoScripts

I think Mick might have the answer. Would you be kind enough to provide a link or another contact where I might find Adblocker?

I added the Ad-Blocker to my Firefox a few weeks ago, and I have just recently noticed a slow-down when I am typing in this Forum as well. Sometimes everything is fine, and other times, I am about 5 words ahead when I notice that the words have not appeared yet. Also, when I am editing my posts, the typing is sluggish, and even my ARROW right and ARROW LEFT keys move very slow when I am trying to go forward or backwards within the text I typed.

I removed all of my adblocking and security restrictions from this site and it is one of the slowest and most bogged down sites I visit. I put them back on and it's one of the cleanest and fastest loading sites I visit. However with the restrictions, many of the buttons don't work when posting but I've found a way around that too.

The adblocking may be the solution. My DJ computer at my show is on the internet & I sometimes pop on after the show, this forum IS very slow to load on that computer, but there are no ad blockers on that one - I always attributed it to a possible slow wireless connection, but other pages load fine. All computers at home have the adblockers on and the forum loads as it should.

FYI - It used to run very fast - until recently when the management decided to add the Info Links - this has drastically decreased the speed. We have determined that after we reach the 100 day mark we most likely remove them.
