Thanks Charmin for the forum direction !!!!

I have been "singing" karaoke for about 10 years, over the last 4 years I have had my own machine and we have great parties at my house with all my buds. I have just purchased a VocoPro 555, I already had (2) 15" Seeburg speakers with hardtop tweeters/midrange,4 smaller speaker, light bar etc.., a series of mikes both cordless and wired and have managed to get at this time (all legally bought) about 3,000 songs.
We live on 10 acres in the middle of nowhere and can crank it up with no problems.
I was thinking about maybe trying to start doing some smaller bars as I have always been the "KJ" at my house and my friends houses and have seen many real professional KJ's at work and tried to watch what they do right and wrong.
Do you think the equipment I have would be sufficient for a start?
The songs are a mix of everything from old country to new country, blues, rock, jazz, standards etc...
P.S. how do you keep anyone from doing Paradise by the dashboard light and Love Shack as I have noticed they are usually crowd killing shouting matches.
I look forward to visiting with you guys and learning a little more about the inner workings from so many knowledgeable people.
Thanks,Blue.

You are very perceptive :hi5: I would "seriously" not include them in your songbook!

Is your equipment good enough?  No, the equipment is never good enough so don't let that stop you.  Go and do.  How do you keep the crowd from singing certain songs?  Don't list them in your book.  If someone asks you if you have it, lie.
