Email shot to Karaokeware regarding how long till KJMP is back up and credits can be stored on line. Was directed to contact Digitrax. Email to Digitrax,,, directed to contact Karaokeware. Ok? Always hate those joint efforts like computer companies/internet providers.

Emailed karaokeware again and finally was able to talk to someone after they tried to redirect me again.

KJMP should be back up in one to two months. Whatever is on the cloud should be on the KJMP according to Ryan. Worth the wait to me. In the meantime, I will continue to use the credits I have for the CB songs on the drive that I don't have.

As for the cloud and the recent poll, I will say it again. It is of little use to established, legal hosts at that price. Instead of a monthly fee for use of the entire library (or this could be a choice) rent the songs on a one song at a time basis. Say $.30 per song?

if that library becomes available as a KJMP download and just unlock as you have been doing, now we would be talking.
that even i could get behind.

I would get on the KJMP deal in a heartbeat. That is what I have been wanting, ESPECIALLY if other mfrs besides CB were offered.

Hell, I'm not even hosting anymore and I would STILL buy it over spending $199/month for cloud service. At least I know for a fact that the songs that I buy will never disappear due to some error in licensing *or the copyright owner just plain changes their mind*

I'd even buy Compuhost JUST to unlock the songs to move them to Hoster.

I wish I had a KJMP drive - just to see if I could crack it. Knowing what I know now, I'd bet that I could! I recently cracked SCDGs. I don't know if I'd call it "cracked" - it took me all of 15 minutes. I don't think they're really hiding anything...

Any more news on this yet? I would love to be able to buy more credits. You have no idea how tiring it is to print books with all the Chartbuster tracks, to run out of credits, and at several of my shows attempt to explain to some drunk that I can't play their song. If we don't get an option to purchase more credits, I may just let Troy attempt to "crack" my drive. Otherwise it is useless to me...he is in the same town as me after all...

yeah TopherM...

I was thinking that an attempt to circumvent DRM on a product that is sold with DRM in place and as a condition of sale is a felony.

I could be wrong.

But maybe I am not.

You could also make a case for fraud against the companies involved in the sale of the KJMP.

Yeah, I got screwed. I bought the KJMP about 2 months before all of the Chartbuster news came down. I only bought 50 credits, and used about 12 of them before support was cut off. So I payed about $200 for those 12 tracks so far.

Inviction has promised that they will support the product eventually and those credit will still be good if they were stored locally, so just a waiting game at this point, hopefully.

Just an observation but every post where somebody got in contact with someone about the KJMP seems the answer has always been 2-3 months.

I might get my hands on one of those KJMP's. If I can crack it, I'll post the program on-line. Of course, this doesn't mean you get the songs for free - you still have to pay for them, and to remain legal, you should place the funds in an escrow account, payable to the successor of Chartbuster IF/WHEN they get their "stuff" together.

Ok so the 1 to 2 month wait period is up! I've replaced my laptop so now I can't transfer credits to this laptop. Let's get this thing going very soon!

For those of you that may not know, acekaraoke.com now offers song packages for the karaoke cloud. Perfect solution to getting Chartbuster tracks, however, it seems the cloud only has 5000 of their tracks available....my KJMP had at least 12,000 tracks. So, subscribing to the cloud/buying song packs this way wont resolve the issue for those of us who printed books with their whole catalog...but it is a start....

Gretchen, help us out here. When is the KJMP going to be back up? I stored all my credits off line but that is now my backup computer. I need to be able to put them back online so I can transfer the credits to my other laptop.

Is anybody actually working on this?
