					| Hi
I am new to the scene and wonder if anyone can tell me which is the best way to set up your Karaoke Song Directory when using Sax & Dotties Show Presenter Program. Should the files be set up in order of
MFCode / Song / Artist / Track ..... Or is there a proper way of setting them up before importing them to the Sax & Dotties Program? Or does it matter? Any advice would be appreciated.

 Thanks
 Katz1113

I think it's mostly a case of not many people here using that program, and doubt as to the form of the help needed. Are you presented with alternatives when you are ripping your songs from the CDG? If so, I would suggest finding a format from that program that matches a format for Sax & Dottie's. Can't give you details, for I don't know what ripping program you are using and have never imported songs to Sax & Dotties. Again, not that many of the active forum members here use that program. I have only ever seen it as a singer, and in general haven't liked what I have seen._________________

					| I have to agree with mckyj57 thats the reason I didn't reply, there probably is someone who can help you here who is a bit more computer savy, but even with the program I use for me it's a matter of trial and error to do the formatting. 1000+ discs copied and I still get it wrong!
Have you tried sax and dottys support?

					| All my music is .bin files that are zipped. When importing them into Sax & Dotties, they are imported in the zipped format.. What I meant is should they be typed out eg.
CB30158-07 ADELE ROLLING IN THE DEEP
 OR
ADELE ROLLING IN THE DEEP CB30157-07
 OR
ROLLING IN THE DEEP ADELE CB30158-07

or does it matter? Is there a proper way these songs should be set up

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. The reason I am asking is not all my songs are typed out in the same format and at times I am experiencing trouble locating some of them when doing the search in the Sax & Dotties Program. I have over 130,000 songs and it just seemed too much of a chore to retype them all, but if it's necessary to make this program smoother it'll have to be done I guess. Thanks for youre quick replies.

You probably won't get anyone here to help with what appears to be an illegal library._________________

 Mic. Inputs: 3
 Mic. Effects: Volume, Echo
 Remote Control: Yes
 Key Changer: 13 Steps
Front Panel Direct Track Access: Yes
 Recording: N/A
 Rack Mountable: Yes
 Rack Mounts Included: Sold Separately
 User's Manual: Yes
Cables: Power Cord, 1 A/V cable
 Microphones: 0
 USB Input: Yes
Video/Audio Output: S-Video, Component Video, Optical Output, 2 Channels, 5.1 Channels
Other: 1TB Hard Drive, 200,000+ songs
 Plus everything else I purchased

This is my system..as purchased which is Obviously NOT illegal I have also added all the discs I have purchased prior to buying this system I have deleted some songs & I have in excess of 500 actual discs that I have copied onto this drive.. They are not typed in the same way the HD came thats whats causing me the problem. I chose to use Sax & Dotties because of advice I got from a tech & set everything up to accept .zip files because thats whats used in the Sax & Dotties program Anyway thats not the problem..I am sure that saying my system or library was illegal was only an assumption. We have a company that monitors illegal operations in Canada. If you are found to be illegal you not only face a heavy fine you can lose your license & equipment. I am smart enough to not take that risk with the money I have invested.

No legal retailer will sell that many songs on a loaded hard drive in the first place, and without accompanying discs in the 2nd place._________________LIKE Lonman on Facebook - Lonman Productions Karaoke & my main site via my profile!

					| Katz, The responses here are correct. They aren't saying your 'system' is illegal.... it's the hard drive full of songs that is very very suspicious. I don't know of any hard drive sold with that many songs on it that IS legal. It's going to be assumed here that your hard drive is full of multiple manufacturers of karaoke. That, right there, makes it illegal... for instance: Sound Choice and Chartbuster don't sell hard drives with both their products on one drive. We are aware that Canada has laws regarding piracy, similar to what we have here. I can't think of any way it would be possible for you to have bought a legal drive with more than 12,000 songs on it, much less 200,000, and those songs would have to be from the same manufacturer.

As for Sax & Dotty... most here don't care for the program so you will probably have a hard time finding your answer. Sorry. Generally though, which ever songs work fine in your program.. check out how they are named then follow that same naming format for all your other files. Zipped files make a karaoke program 'think' harder... that's one reason I don't care for S & D.

MOST OF ALL... YOU BETTER DO SOME RESEARCH IF YOU THINK YOUR HARD DRIVE IS LEGAL. EVERYONE HERE WILL TELL YOU THAT IT'S MORE THAN HIGHLY POSSIBLE YOU BOUGHT A PIRATED COPY.

					| BTW everyone.... I'm trying to be nice here... Katz may well be unaware of the legalities of her hard drive. And Katz... when you find that your hard drive is illegal, you'd be well advised to report where you got it and put the seller out of commission! _________________ SoundChoice Certification coming soon!

					| Re Sax & Dotty, all your songs need to be in the same naming order, ie Disc-Number - Title - Artist, Title - Artist - Disc-Number, etc.
When you import the songs into Sax and Dotty there is a list that asks what naming order you have them in, select the correct one and the programme will do the rest.

You need the dashes inbetween each of the catagories, but just set it up exactly as one of the choices in the drop down list.

 Hope this helps

					| To sum it all up if you have a song on the HD you better have a DISC with that song on it.
If you don't it's an illegal drive.

Unless of course you have a receipt that you downloaded it from a legal d/l site.
