I'm starting to fill ou tmy music collection, and I know that everyone has opinions about the brands to buy.

Honest opinions about this disc?

SGB1-66SET

Is there enough decent stuff on this set to make it worthwhile?

For home use they are generally fine. SGB does some very good Rock renditions. SGB also scores very high on the cost to value scale. If you are going pro, it's best to reserve these for filler or keep in case you get customers that want to sing the SGB version because it is what they have at home. In other words, I would not use them as part of a core set, but I am happy with the few SGB discs I have (about 10-15).

If I had to do it all over again, I would avoid most of the bargain brands and stick with Sound Choice, Dk, Chartbusters country, Top Tunes, Radio Starz, and periodically buy some of the monthly relaeases.

If you buy a new player, say from karaoke.com, check out the free disc pack from Priddis... it's actually quite good!

Radio Starz, the best of Pop Hits Monthly, Sound Choice Foundations and the bricks, and ANY of the Pioneers... if you can find someone selling the lasers as a set, GET them, The cdgs... get them... the dvds... GET them!!

Matt

Matt, I was very pleased and surprised with Radio Starz. I picked up the Stelly Dan CDG while I was in Florida and I was shocked to hear how good it sounded!!

I had never heard anyone mention these...I will try another.

Patrick

yeah, that's my absolute personal favorite. "Do It Again" is just terrific!

And many of the "Dixie Chicks" fans love the two discs, I've heard good things about the Pearl Jam disc, the Garth Brooks discs are good...

Great set!

AND if rumors are to be believed, there is talk of the company resurfacing, reissuing the original ten discs, and continuing with their lineup!

RIGHT ON!

I actually called that place in Florida that I visited last week and asked if they had more of the Radio Starz and the DK's that I bought in their bargain bin.

I just bought the John Lennon Radio Starz and 9 DK CDG's. I was pretty impressed with the DK's, too and at $10 apiece you can't go wrong.

no kidding!

karaoke.com had some a while back, but they were quickly sold out, and that was at $20-$25 each!
