Most bars can get these posters made from their liquor/beer distributors if they ask them to make them.  It not only promotes the bar but their product as well, they just need to ask!

[font=verdana] What type of posters are you talking about?  size?   My son paid $300 a couple of months ago for 3 small banners that hang outside of his 3 gigs, and he did the graphic work.  I will have to contact the local distributors and see what they offer.  Thanks for the tip!

I've been to shows in where the banner reads something like

"Thursday Karaoke Night"
sponsored by MILLER LIGHT

It's a two fold banner which advertises karaoke plus the PRODUCT in this case Miller Light --- Most liquor distr will provide these FREE to the bar if management request them.

They used to do these for FREE but now it costs the bar - I'm not sure how much, but for some it was enough to stop requesting them. Such a shame when it only benefits the brewing company as well.

It depends on how much the bar spends, if it's a sizeable order, they can generally get them, otherwise they aren't free anymore.  And karaoke hosts cannot get any of these perks, even paying for them - at least through the distributorss our bar works with.

Beer distributors will usually jump at the chance of putting up canvas banners for karaoke/beer advertising--both inside and outside the building. In dont know why more bars dont take advantage of it.

From my personal experience when I was doing clubs, many bars did not WANT to advertise simply for the fact that they were not paying their ascAp fees & didn't want to chance a surprise visit.
Rarely do these clubs take off, but funny thing is if they DO happen to take off, word gets out & they get their surprise visit & fines to boot!

Woo hoo talk about zombie threads!
Putting up a picture, make positive (i'd even have them sign something) stating it's ok to use their likeness for your advertising, otherwise there's a trouble brewing. I personally wouldn't use singer pics but, that's just me - might piss other singers off NOT being 'the feature' of your ad. But again, and even more so today, the bars have to pay for these to be made and are not available to the general entertainment - even if we offer to pay.

I never use the same singer more then once..and I always ask if they would like to appear on the poster and most of them want to. I change out the posters every three months or so
and NO they ( the establishment ) don't have to pay for poster...Budwiser and Coors does ours for free..if they are not making them for you...maybe you not asking nicely enough..lol..

Sure they will. There is nothing to do in Salina except drink, lol.

This is an edit...I forgot about the nudie bar. Still, you got to drink.

Weight lifting is a draw? Really??
I think most cities offer all that plus as well. In a town of less than 50K, drinking is probably a main activity.
