What do you guys use for delay time on an effects unit? I have been trying to find the right setting for delay time and regeneration.

I would really like to switch between several settings optimized for Rock, Country, Urban and such.

Right now I am using about 175ms and about 5% regeneration.

Can you tell me what you use?

There is no 1 setting. Effects (especially delay) should be adjusted per song to match the beat of the song. If your effect unit has a tap sync button, this is the best way to get the perfect delay setting. You just tap to to the beat.

Mine varies.. depending on the song and the effect I need..

On my multi-effect.. the Lexicon MPX 550 it's usually 310ms + 12% and the mix is adjustable a slight chorus and slight room reverb. I try not to overkill my multi-effect.

and then..

I also carry a stand alone Roland-SDE 3000 digital delay thich allows me to have up to 3 seconds of programmable delay. for songs such as Queensryche's "Empire" that have .950 vocal delay in it. (depending on the track)

as you can see I try to keep my shows as realistic to live as possible, so everyone has as much fun as possible.

I also carry "other" vocal toys with on occasion but i'm not gonna mention them here.. because fron time to time they are not a regular part of the karaoke shows.
