I am going to show my stupidity here, but here goes. I am just getting started into karaoke so I need questions answered every know and then. What is the difference between Super CDG's and "regular" CDG's.

Also is CAVS a player or computer generated unit, what exactly is it???

Any clarification would be enlightening.

Thanks

super cd+g is a new format, similar to the Mp3+g. Basically, it's compressed cd+g files on a dvd-type reading system. It's pretty slow to load up.

I have a definition file on my website that explains most of this... I haven't added the super cd+g yet.

The Cavs Super CD+G player is a dvd mulit-function player.

They also had a jukebox player with a hard drive that could store mp3+g type files.. two seperate players.

For information, you can always go to the CAVS website!

Thanks, will the CAVS player also play the "regular" CDG's or does someone have to buy another set of cd's to use this player?

No, the CAVs will play cdg's but will also allow you to store them which, depending where you are, may or may not be legal!

CAVS has SEVERAL types of players, Barry. The one you're thinking of is the one player with the hard drive...

That's not the SuperCDG player at all. All that is is a fancy DVD player!

YES, it will play regular cdgs... however the loading of the discs, recognizing the format... it's fairly slow.

Hope that answers the question...

Matt
