Hey guys, I'm new to karaoke, but i absolutely love it.

I'm thinking about getting a karaoke setup for next year and was wondering what I need.

Right now I have an Dell XPS 1330  that has a HDMI out. I was wondering how could i get karaoke through my laptop to my plasma using HDMI? I prefer to kill two birds with one stone by getting a receiver and home theater speakers.

So based on this, what do you guys suggest I do? Is there like a mic splitter out there, so I can run two mics through my laptop  to the receiver?

The mic splitter is called a mixer.

Plug the laptop and mics in  to it.

If it's a surround sound stereo that you speak of, you may want to use a small PA system to handle the load your're going to put on it.
