i'd like to remove voice form my mp3s, so that i could sing to the original music background, not the midi files. i've tried many programs, but i wasn't satisfied with them.

i've heard of some programs that remove voice from music, do you know them?

Good luck, but You will find very few programs or even hardware that will sucessfully remove vocals from mp3's.

Vocal removers use phase cancellation, and mp3's are not always in phase. even the best of the vocal removers will only work with music from the original recording, and then only if the vocals havent been enhanced. ie: echo, and reverb.

This site might help you:

mtu.com/basics/vocal-eliminator.htm

You have to convert your MP3 files to .wav in order to use it.

Ive tried just about every proggie that I can find to remove vocals.
Some with no sucsess at all , others minimal. The ones that do reduce
the vocals also remove a large portion of the Instruments as well, leaving the sound thin and muddled.
I was trying to remove vocals from my favorite recording artist
Robin Trower since there is very little available from him on cdg
I've sent requests to most of the cdg producers but to no avail.
I guess he's just to obscure to make it worth the money.
 Maybe that's why I like his music so much.
In Loving memory of James Dewar. 8)
