It has been almost ten years since I met my sweet buddy Don Janson. I was walking along minding my business and there he was. Before that time I was content to live my life leaving my singing aspirations behind me. I got married at 19 and started my family at 20 and although, I always loved singing and music, I had a more important purpose. Then I met Don, who introduced me to all kinds of music especially jazz and opened my eyes to a new world. From four thousand miles away he coached me and encouraged me, and he made me sing. Mind you my family members were all covering their ears and shaking their heads. I reckon he is now their nemesis. LOL!! That said, this song is one that he has asked me to sing for a few years which I refused to do as he is much too critical of this one. I always said No way am I going to let you pick me apart over this song, forget it!! I found this backing in my files that I must have gotten from Don for a friend with him actually playing a clarinet solo on the bridge. He wont even remember!! LOL! Wont he be surprised? What Luck!! That was beautiful, Pam and a very sweet dedication for Don's Birthday. I'm glad he encourages you to sing because you sing very well, plus, you really enjoy it. |

That was a cute description, one as sweet as your dedication to a special friend. To have such caring and genuine friends is truly a blessing from up above. Thank you so much my sweet Pam and also for the kind birthday wishes expressed here by friends at SS. Now, now !! you know I would never pick ya to bits, and for the record you got this absolutely spot on and sang soo sweetly too....jus like a lil skylark should sound....I had forgotten entirely that I played clarinet on that track and got quite jealous when ya said you had to sleep with the clarinet player to get him to play it for ya LOL !! It does not matter what song you sing, you always give it 100%, thats all anyone can ask of a singer, and when I hear your voice it makes me smile and I feel good. So sing away, I for one will always enjoy it, and being able to call you a good friend makes it special. Love Ya, Dale |
