You have a real range Rick- very impressive. That's a tough song to sing and you pulled it off. You'll struggle to completely lose the plosives with the SM57 but using it slightly off-axis will help so you don't get the sharp blast of air that comes with "p" and "b." As has already been mentioned an SM58 is better for vocals but in my opinion the AKG D5 is the best off-axis mic around as it's designed to be used that way. Hope that helps.
