Nice to meet you. This is a difficult song to sing (I can relate because I've done it myself) and you did an absolutely beautiful job on it! It's a complex melody because the notes jump all over the place, and you hit 'em all perfectly. VERY nicely done! You get full marks on this one!!

Hey Mark, it's great to see you doing a duet with Charmin... she sure is great, isn't she? And, so are YOU! You know, you are REALLY great at this stuff. I remember hearing a duet you did with Dani back in the day, and it blew my socks off. And so did THIS one! I'm still hoping to find a backing for "Another Tricky Day" by The Who so that me & you can pair up for it. You're a very desirable singer to work with, my man. Heck, you're becoming a hot commodity! LOL Two very fine singers on display here... this one's a grand slam! BIG props to both of you!!

I still have that duet with Dani. She was amazing for sure with her singing and she mixed it too. I give her a lot of credit on that one. Charmin performs on weekends and I was so pleased to team up with her again. She's such a talent and I hope we can enjoy more from her on the site. Hey Joyce! I hate cigarettes so much, it almost deterred me from clicking the play button. LOL! Just kidding, of course... there ain't NO way I'd pass up the opportunity to hear that spectacular singing voice of yours! Awesomely solid vocals, perfect delivery & pitch... you're firing on all cylinders here. Not a song I'm familiar with, but the job you did on it impressed the HECK outta me! Excellent!

Hey Connie! Oh, yeah... I love this song & you sang that catchy melody to perfection! I'm trying to remember if I might've been the one who said you sounded like Tracey Ullman... at the very least, I'm pretty sure you & I might have discussed this song in the past. I discovered the song in the mid-1990s when Tracey Ullman had her TV show on HBO; I agree, it's kind of a "lost classic" that many people don't know about. I'm glad to hear you sing it again, with a sparkling new mix! You sound terrific & it's a great song to cap off your Challenge songs with! Sorry I didn't participate... I've been mad busy lately(psst... Kathy's Birthday is coming up). LOL Once again, great job!
Reply: Hi Mark, you crossed my mind as being the one who told me about this song, but I wasn't sure. Back in the mid 90's I didn't even have cable TV, so I couldn't watch the videos. So, I didn't discover this song until you mentioned it as a good one for my voice. The first recording, which I subbed several years ago, wasn't up to snuff, but this one I was happier with. I'm glad you liked it, too. Thanks SO much! I forgot to mention that I lowered the key a a bit. |

Yo, Steven! Good to see you, man. I'm not very familiar with most of Jefferson Airplane's early stuff, so I hadn't heard either one of these songs before... but you nailed them with that unmistakable style of yours & they sound very cool! That first song had kind of a "Santana" vibe to it. You displayed some great breath control... both songs had some really nice long notes in them that you sustained perfectly! Well done, man... 2 thumbs up for both songs!
