Hey Joyce! I don't remember hearing this one from you before... did you have it up on iComps? Eric's the bomb... and so are YOU! Your voice sounds fantastic... both the lead vocals and the harmonies are spot-on perfect. There's a really nice long note you held, shortly before the halfway point... definitely a "standout" part which sounds amazing (along with the rest of the song)! What instrument did Eric use towards the end there, did he mention it? A very cool track to have made, and your voice is the icing on the cake. Excellent!
Reply: Hey Mark.. Yes, you heard it on IComp.. That was the only site I posted it on.. Thank you and your keen listening ear.. I don't know what Eric used but he got it right on target.. Thanks so much |

Johnny Islands! Hey, I like that stage name... you should've signed up with it here. As you can probably guess, "Cheetah" isn't my real last name, lol. Singing a "composite" melody line structured from several different ones is a GREAT idea... you really did a fabulous job selling this song. That's an area you EXCEL in, John... no need to ever worry about that! As always, your ad-libs and use of improv works well with the simulated live recording. You had a dream you were singing this song alongside all those legendary musicians? It's funny... I've had "musical performance" dreams in the past. While discussing them with a guitarist I used to jam with, he mentioned something interesting... he said he "never actually got to PLAY" in his dreams. I agreed; I'd had dreams where you're setting up, plugging in mics, looking over the crowd, etc. but the song never seemed to start. I thought maybe the human brain was incapable of handling that much info at once. Excellent job, man! Well done!!
Reply: Mark,
I always had that thought about your name spinning around, in the back of my head - LOL! Yeah, I do like the name & have actually used it in the past, mostly at karaoke shows and on CDs I've produced. Regarding dreams, I seem to be able to fly on my own for awhile but always end-up crashing - I wonder what kind of Freudian interpretation I'd get for that dream - LMAO! TY for the great words of encouragement and support you always send my way, bro. It's very much appreciated.

OHIO TOM |
Hey Tom, this sounds like a tough song with all those lyrics flying relentlessly at you... but you did a great job handling them, especially for a one-shot recording! Great breath control and "knowing exactly where you are" in the song; this one would definitely throw me for a loop! LOL I can tell you know the song well. Did you get some new recording gear lately? Your mixes are sounding terrific; you're getting a nice clear sound with plenty of definition. Well done, my man!
Reply: Thanks Mark, I got a Sampson Mic is all at Best Buy and shooting it through CEP is all..... A tongue twister for sure!! |

Hey Suz, it's always a pleasure hearing you do showtunes because you're so strong in this genre! Have you ever been in a local musical production? Some places hold auditions for those things, and I could TOTALLY see you pulling it off. Some really nice highs towards the end there, and your vibrato is nice & strong. Great job... and I like your new photo, too! Well done!
Reply: Thanks, Mark! I can't really do local theater because of transportation limitations. Maybe some day! |
