if you could only pick one karaoke singer you know to sing at your funeral, do you have someone in mind?

what made them your choice? singing ability or their relationship with you?

One of the reasons I got out of the hosting business, is because I started doing more and more post funeral, wakes and receptions. They paid as much as weddings I have hosted, but the atmosphere was depressing to me, especially if I knew the person being remembered. I just felt it wasn't right for me, have any of you hosted such a gig?

I went to one. Knew the person. Was also a fundraiser for her expenses.

I have sung at a few funerals.... very stressful because you really don't want to screw it up. Mausoleum's are okay (no reverb needed since they usually have very high ceilings, hard walls and lots of natural echoes), graveside is far more difficult.

Lone Ranger, yep, I hosted my very first post funeral reception this summer, during COVID, though the young lady didn't pass from COVID. I still don't know why she passed. She was in her late 20s with a single child. I didn't know what to play, music-wise. I'm not looking forward to hosting another one, but if I'm asked, I'll consider it.

Nobody directly answered my morbid question, tho

Offhand, I can't think of anyone. Karaoke singers may show up and sing anyway. I wonder if they'll just sing their signature songs for me

I will try and answer the question, I had one man who had me record him, singing all of the tunes he did. I put them on a disc for him and his family played them at his services. I left instructions when I die to play Scot's bagpipe music and bawdy Irish ballads, which will drive everyone to drink at the wake.
