Well, I broke down and bought a new Tascam 8-track mini recording studio. We had so much fun (and work) putting together a couple of CDs back in the fall using just a single track Sony hand-held recorder and Cool Edit Pro, that I thought it might be time to take a step up.

Several of my 'regulars' want to have their own CD, so I'll have no shortage of volunteers (or, guinea pigs).

So if you don't see me around here for several months, I'll be attempting to figure out how to operate it. I'm a technical Luddite, so it'll take me longer than most of you folks, I'm sure.

It sure is. But you know who cares? Other hosts. Know who doesn't? Singers. It's not like he's recording other singers so the singers can sell or broadcast the recording. Recording singers is pretty much the same as doing 70 in a 65.

No, I don't condone it, but I look at how things happen in the *real* world, not the 'perfect' one.

Illegal??? Let's not jump to conclusions before you have all the facts. For example... if my karaoke-singing friend Joe wants to sing a song he wrote while playing his guitar, and I want to subsequently add my incredible drumming skills, and my sister-in-law's keyboards after that... and I record and mix the whole thing... then burn it to a CD, do you really think the authorities would come to my house... break down the door to my sophisticated recording studio (my rec room)... slap me in cuffs... and ship me off to prison?

Oh boy! You've got me scared now. I'd better return the unit and see if I can get my money back.

Same here. It wasn't clear from your original post that you wanted to record singers singing their own material.

Maybe get all your best singers to do one Eagles song and one Metallica song following along with the karaoke discs. Mass-produce them and sell them on Craigslist, E-Bay, and of course, in a street corner kiosk downtown in front of the concert venue. Call the album "The Metallic Eaglets."

I'll email you all the Metallica and Eagles MP3+G tracks you'll need in just a second.

 8)

I cannot accept charity... How 'bout I pay you for them.. Perhaps a couple of crisp, new Canadian $50.00 bills. I just made them this morning. You should have no problem cashing them in the U.S.

(Tangent? What's a tangent?)

Soon we won't need money because Trump is going to take it all and give to the Democrats so they can afford to have more "Pity Parties".  :bawling:

I've recorded singers in the past, hell how many time have you seen someone have their friend record them on their cell phone? How is recording someone singing a karaoke song any different than recording a demo? It's not for profit... Although I do accept tips!

Last night, I had an epiphany. The CD should not be called "Metallic Eaglets," as previously suggested.

It has to, must be called......"Lars Henley"

so it appears that your stock hit it's lowest point on the day 45 got elected.
one day it might get back to the high it was at during the last administration.

8) If Trump and Ryan can't get their own members to support their bill, they will have to buy friends and get the Democrats on board with them. It is called "The Art Of The Deal", remember. Nothing is getting done because no one can find the middle ground anymore. It's my way or the highway. Trouble is if they don't fix the roads there will be no highways, people won't be able to get anywhere, and they will have to face each other and compromise. Voters are tired of government that doesn't work, that last Health Care bill just had 17% of the people thinking it was a good idea, that is not a majority.

P.S. At least I didn't start the high jack of the thread this time.

It was a joke, but I wish I had purchased the stock on the day of Trump's inauguration.
