Not certain of the correct terminology - (embedded quotes?)

Anyway, I find it incredibly annoying to read a thread and see the posts start with a quote of the entire previous post or in many cases several posts!

Really is it necessary?

You have the ability if needed to edit the quote to the portion that is required for your response or just not use it.

The thread is there - people can or have read what you are quoting.

I do know that use the "Quote" Feature can be important to respond to a certain portion of a previous post or for clarification to what you are saying. However, having several posts or an entire post???

Please think about the readers prior to using the feature.

Thank you

MTU Forum automatically parses any quotes to the last statement. So if you quote someone that had quoted someone, it only will show the last quote & not the quote before. Maybe that can be added here?

Bravo!

This of course, means that people will have to learn to use the forum tools correctly.

In the words of the movie "Airplane!": "Good luck...and we're all counting on you!"

Some may not know HOW to edit a quoted reply. Each section of a quoted reply has a Quote="Poster's Name" in brackets and ends in a /Quote in brackets. Leave the first bracket quote="poster's name" and take out everything past it to the area you want to highlight, leaving in the last /Quote I personally like to see the reply AFTER the quoted section but that's just me. I don't know if I explained this properly. If not, someone else should feel free to give it a better explanation.

I don’t know if this would be a better explanation (just trying).
Example: If I want to quote MrBoo’s post, less Bazza's (no offense, B) :) with only the line that start with “I personally like to see the reply AFTER…………….to give it a better explanation.[/quote], then I would delete the ones I highlighted in BOLD (only) such as:

Again, delete "Bold". Please correct me if I’m wrong. Sorry for more quotes, Phill.
