I am looking for just one more complete DK1-99 set and was hoping yours would be the final one. I typed my bid as 140.00 instead of 1400.00 :(

Grats on the sale!

Wow, missed opportunities on both sides, chris. But I'm happy with the closing bid considering I started at less than half. :)

If anyone knows or hears of a DK collection for sale please let me know! ;)

Thanks.

Lonman - Do you happen to have that list already in excel format? I tried to cut and paste to an excel spreadsheet and it runs the title artist and track together.

Phil, there's a Millennium set on eBay for a good price. Hope the link sticks.

I'll have to convert it when I get back home tomorrow.

What are you asking about? The original post in this thread is from 2010, long gone is that set.

If you're referring to Chris' post above & want to find out if it's still on sale, just click on the ebay link. It's a month old post btw & it’s sold!

I just read your posts today from the other thread re: pioneer lasers asking the same question twice “Still for sale”? Thread was from 6mos ago. :) viewtopic.php?f=44&t=27391
Don’t let these good leads slip away. If you want them buy it right away at the earliest opportunity or others will beat you to it! Just a friendly advice.

Back many years ago I talked to the Daiichikosho USA company. They told me the melody lines are done by taking the guide singer whic is not in the 1-99 and they run their voice through a voice synthesis program that converts it to a melody line. If you listen really close to "Islands In The Stream" you will hear a whisper inside the melody line. Pay close attention to "Baby when I met you there was peace unknown". You will hear the whisper was residule artifacts from the conversion process. One melody line I could not stand was on "She's Got You" by Patsy Cline. The "I really don't know but I know it won't let me be........" When the word be.... plays it sounds like an air raid siren. I still do think the DK's are by far the best. I wished they had made the melody line in a multiplex format. I learned a lot of songs by listening to the melody line on those tunes. I am still a DK fan. There is your answer though :) The voice was run through a synthesizer program to make a melody line. Also, they did this so the singer could learn the song and phrasing.

DK also had a multiplex series but the melody lines were still in the track. The only fail with this was that the background had changing pictures and they looked very messy.

All their laserdiscs were multiplex.
