I have this set in my collection. I paid five bucks a disk many years ago. While the flute is annoying the quality of the songs more than make up for the flute.

We sold a couple of sets for $1,500 recently with no problem, they were gone in a week.

I know from searching the web these DK's 1-99 are jewels at the very least they are work $10.00
i have seen them up to $40.00 ea. i have the whole set and think they are the best renditions of most songs, I
use them every weekend and people love them..I
have friends with chartbuster etc. of the same songs and they do not sound as good as DK..wouldn't do karaoke without them..i prefer them when singing myself.
I feel sound choisce is probably the next best.
good luck!

I wish I could afford them, but now isn't the time. Maybe in a couple of months.

[quote="Some songs were also recorded not in the original key but rather at a much lower key i.e., "Hey Jude", "Footloose", "Waiting For A Girl Like You", etc.

I find, that when that's the case, it's "usually" only 1/2 tone lower than the Sound Choice version. Also in some versions the flute isn't that noticible. Sound Choice doesn't always have the right key, and I'd bet once in a while, the key they state at the beginning, isn't the one they start with.... :)

I'd start your auction at $900. It should sell. If it doesn't sell, list them individually at $10 apiece, or just relist it. You'll easily get $20 each for the ones in the 90-99 range. There's no reason to give your DK's away for $300.

I don't think I'd list them seperately. You need to keep listing until you attract some collectors at your price....prudence....
How much in a hurry are you?
Didn't a set just recently sell on ebay?......did it sell?.....how much?
Ebay can help you check comparable items that are for sale, and I think that have sold....

If anybody's interested, we still have a bunch of single discs. No more complete sets, though. We are selling single discs for $20 each, but if you buy enough single discs, we can make some sort of deal.

We also still have a ton of PHM discs. Those cost much less, and we can definitely work out a deal for multiples.

How much for the 39 non-dup discs, PM me a price... Would you sell one of your complete sets? It's the last brand I want in our library...

I too have an original set that I purchased New. They were $2800.00. If you have the original discs, they are true collector's items. $1500, maybe,
anything less, I would keep them

keep in mind that the ORIGINAL 1-99 was recalled because of copyright infringement. I have the set and they DO NOT have the flute. The flute was employed in the second go around and in the higher than 99 #'s The originals were sold with a hands off player. The discs were encapsulated as in a jukebox.

I believe you would be wrong on that. If I recall, they did lose licensing for several songs but that wasn't the reason they dropped the line & broke it into more home consumer friendly sets like the Applause, Premier & Encore series - grouping specific genres & artists together as opposed to the original 99 line which had discs of mixed everything quite often leaving a person with 1 song they wanted and 16 songs they didn't. The remaining licensed songs from the original 99 series were also combined for the 'core' Millenium set - about 1200 or titles at that time. I actually think Chip could verify or deny this as i believe he knew John K the DK president at the time.

All of my 'original' 99 series did have the flute - these were bought in 91-92 era.
