I have not.... nor would i promote a illegal site..enough said..next topic

By even bringing it up and posting a link to the site, you are promoting and illegal site.

Shouldn't that read: songs are not permitted by original artist? Lol.

Should say "not licensed" instead of not performed.

I can see the concept in "BUY ON THE FLY" but at $2.00-$3.00 per track, Damn!

We buy songs in bulk and get quotes at a fraction of that cost. Yes we do get many tracks that may not even be used but they are available. Most libraries of 15,000 tracks consist of mostly hits anyway.

Personal preference I guess.
We've had the same summer contract going on our fourth year spending $5000-$6000 per year purchasing complete libraries of tracks directly from manufacturers.

I'm hoping Sybersound Records will give in and offer us their entire library as a purchase option for summer of 2018. (Hint, Hint. Michael Yelvington)

In any growing KJ company it is wise to re-invest at least 20% per annum to keep your tracks up to date.

Better than spending $25 on a 15 song disc you only wanted 1 song from. I'll pay $2-3 all day long for something I know will be sang at least once. Don't care about how many worthless tracks I can get at low cost. I want quality tracks my singers actually ask me for. If I spend $300 on 100 songs that were specifically asked for go a lot further than spending that $300 for 1000 tracks (@ $.30 per track) that will never get sung. I don't care about having a crap load of tracks that will never get sung (I've never had that mentality), I want songs that people actually ask for and sing. Have had a request database since 1998, it has approx. 670 singer requests over the years that have never been made or some may have been made but are just on hard to find (oop) discs or non-accessible downloads.

which most of us do at a fraction of the cost buying one at a time and having 0% unused songs.

I am with Lonnan on this? Why spend thousands of dollars for a bunch of songs that will never get sung when you can get the stuff that get sung one track at a time. To me buying in bulk in the end is a waste of money unless you might be just starting out, personally if I was starting out, I would just buy on the fly from the start. Guarantees.that you might not have any duplicates in your system.

Chris has done just that on one of his systems and is looking to do the same for 3 new systems he is putting together. He said he spend maybe $2000, has around 800 songs in his 'buy on the fly' system - about $166 per month. And those were probably the most commonly sung songs so that cost will go down per month.

Chris has a super awesome idea of doing that buy on the fly stuff. He also Hires and sets up new systems on the fly.

On the other hand, I KJ a summer event on a contract basis, they pay us well so I just reinvest $5000-$7500 every new year in libraries from different manufacturers just to have different versions including International libraries due to tourists from all over the world.

How many rigs do you have, and how many shows do you do a month to need all the music and computers you are discussing?

My wife and I have one system that I use during the summer months 12 hrs/day 7 days /week from March to October.

We started using the "buy on the fly" through Tricerasoft downloads site and also Karaoke-version but being in a tourist town we were constantly buying mixed tracks from all genres in French, Spanish and English.

After just a 12 hr day we would near almost $300 in song packs.
It got expensive very quickly. We thought after a couple weeks it would stop but it never stops, people request way too much. What also sucked is when Tricerasoft shut down, and we have over 1000+ tracks from them, Not sure if they are still legal, but I still have them and use them.

My wife found it much more productive to just purchase complete libraries directly from karaoke manufacturers at an average price of 50 cents per track. The companies also provide us with an authorized license # to accompany the libraries we purchase.

Although Chris has an awesome idea, we consider our approach just as awesome. 25k per season income, we spend approx 7k per season on new libraries of music, net 18k profit/ per season.

KJ's don't realize how fast their credits get used up when buying credit packages. Even the SC "Help" license started to add up. Sue and I made a few purchase mistakes along the way but decided that "Purchasing the Libraries & Licenses" were a best solution for us.

Some mistakes include:
1) Buying updated CDG Disks and Restocking the 3 x 300 disk players
2) Digitrax Cloud subscription paying $99/monthly
3) Karafun Pro subscription Paying $99/monthly
4) Karafun Personal subscription Paying $10/monthly
5) SC "Help" license (First year we went digital) paying $200/monthly

Best solution for us included:
1) SC Gem set and License (6000+ songs)
2) CB Essentials 1-10 SD Card set (4500 songs)
3) DK 2 disk set (1800 tracks)
4) PHM Complete years on disk (324 Tracks per disk)
5) Sunfly Digital Library (300 MP3+G track packages)
6) MRH Complete Library (4500 tracks)
7) Zoom 100 MP3+G tracks on Disk
7) Karaoke-Version (Buy on the fly requests)
8 ) Karaoke.net (Buy on the fly requests)

What we avoid:
1) Streaming karaoke services (All Manufacturers)
2) Media Boxes with Subscriptions

In the works for 2018 include:
1) Sunfly Complete HD library (16500+ tracks)
2) Karaoke.net complete library (9384+ tracks)
