I personally feel that to take out swear words that the artist and or writers put in is wrong..my feeling is if you cant deal with the song the way it was written ..then don't buy it..but again that's my feeling on the issue

I think the problem is that, while the professional karaoke market is in decline, home use is growing rapidly and manufacturers have to cater more to that user base.

Parents are buying the chart discs for their children (obviously ignoring the parental advisory logo on the packaging) and then complaining when the little cherubs belt out swear words left right and center.

Unfortunately, nowadays, negative reviews on sites such as Amazon can mean the difference between success and failure of a particular product and, in this case, even the production of future issues in the series.

Don't matter to me, in my case it's a good thing - our bar bans anything with fbombs anyway, so I can actually use these. In other clubs, people that know the words will sing them as they should be anyway so it shouldn't be a great concern if they replace words.

Here's something else to consider...If those artists expect their work to get any air play they will have a "clean version" for radio and television. As far as I know the FCC still takes a very strong stance against certain language, with the fbomb still at the top of the list and will fine the stations and networks big time. So basically what Zoom is giving us is the clean radio version and I have no problem with that. I've even seen the occasional album with both a clean version and an explicit version for sale in stores.

There is software out there that allows you edit the lyrics of karaoke songs or make song parodies. If some people are so desperate to see adult language on their karaoke tracks; they can put it back in there if they choose to do so. If you prefer to see the word $hit instead of **** on your screen, then go and buy the software that allows you to change it and learn how to use it. The same software will also remove the Sound Choice "marks" and "Trade dress" as well if you want to avoid giving Sound Choice free advertising at your shows when you play their tracks from your computer instead of your original discs.

Thank you for keeping us in the loop about Zoom products. Do you sell any other karaoke manufacturers, and if so could you post those as well when they are released?

Oh yeah, and bought! ;)

Thanks!!!

We mainly deal with Zoom, Sunfly and Mr Entertainer these days. I'm never sure whether it's OK to post all the new releases or whether it's classed as advertising, but I'd be happy to keep you updated if it's OK.
