I am looking at getting the pro subscription from Karafun. I do not want to do battle in court over karaoke at places I have been doing karaoke for years using my ripped songs.

Anybody have any input or knowledge if this completely legal now?
Thanks

Having a Karafun Pro sub is not the issue.
You need to simply acquire the appropriate licensing in your State/Country. Here in Canada I simply get the venue to pay for the RE-SOUND/SOCAN yearly licensing ($145/year) and I'm good to go.

Since Karafun is based in France - it's been debated whether their usage is legal in the states. If you want a for sure legal subscription for kj use (and downloads as well if you prefer) use Party Tyme Pro https://www.partytyme.pro/ and their download site www.karaoke.net

And like mentioned in the above post, unless the clubs you are playing in aren't paying ALL 3 of the PRO (performance rights organizations) ie ASCAP / BMI / SESAC, nothing you play/use in the club will be legal. If you are in Canada then the ones mentioned in the above post are who they need to contact.
