Hi,

I have a friend who came to visit me in the states but mailed me some discs of stuff she knew I would love to have. A lot of the music is mixed brands by something titled select a track. There are no Sound Choice but other brands. She mailed them from Australia as a gift. Has anyone heard of these and are they ok to use in the states. Some stuff is mixed material from various companies.

She had some discs she also got through select a track for her own use and gave them to me. On the disc it says that they be used for karaoke shows.

Am I in the clear on this?

I forgot to add that some of the music is of some old DK from the 1-99 series and also some of the other companies that no longer make discs. There are even some music maestro on these.

I would say that you should use them until you get a legal cease and desist order telling you that you can't use them. Then you can decide whether or not it is worth it to fight it out in court.

I know that these companies worked with many manu's and also select-a-track was like disc on demand. Basically getting only the stuff you want and not have to buy multiple cd's. I do know many people import Sunfly, Zoom, Etc through networks to sell to the USA. I just wondered about these tracks. She also sent me some original Mr. Entertainer original discs.

They're fine to use if the disc is from SAT. SAT just cannot sell to the US or Canada.
