Post subject:  Adobe Audition Creative Cloud

Hey, I'm sure their are a few of you now using Adobe Audition for voice removal. The reason I'm writing is that the program is not working correctly.

Now I do realize all tracks must be in stereo. But I'm beginning to find out it's also how the track was mixed. Can anyone tell me if this is true. I tried a number of times to process a track and the voice even though it was stereo was completely ignored.

Aggravating. I have many tracks left yet to complete. Their is some reason why the vocal is not removed for their were times where I did succeed in doing so.

Their are other issues I'd like to post but I'm primarily concerned about this one at the moment. Also, I have now discovered that the tracks I process can sound much better using a much finer brand of a sound card for my PC.. The quality is unreal compared to what I once had. Any input would be cool ! SDJ

2 quick simple answer instead of sending you to youtube.

1. if vocal have any type of effects on it then forget removing vocals from music.

2. if music is in a compress audio format like an mp3 then forget removing vocals from music.

so if it is an uncompressed file like a wav file and the singer has no vocal effects like reverb or echo, you well be able to almost completely remove them.

even a 320k or higher mp3 will cause you problems. stick with the wav format if pulling from a cd yourself and you'll have better success.

mightywiz, thanks for your input. You were a big help. I now realize I'm among some true karaoke fans. That's so cool ! I'm taking everything you and karaokeniagrafalls have submitted. Don't get me wrong, I may be new to the forum but not to karaoke itself.

I have been into karaoke just singing now for 8 years but never really got into the programs and software that it entails. I'm not bad in singing at least some people say I can be pretty good sometimes. So with that in mind please bare with me with any new websites, programs etc. I'm familiar with some but not all.

So I thank you both again and now I will forge on and be a new member of this forum.

Regards, SDJ

Just be careful on what you're planning on doing with your project. I read a post on here about some guys making karaoke tracks on their own for personal use and got into a bit of trouble.

I started creating my own karaoke tracks back in the day when the THOMPSON vocal remover was first released... but I don't really think it's worth it in todays day and age.

Much easier to request songs at karaoke.net and just buy them for $2-$3 a track.

So long as you are not distributing tracks you make, you will likely never hear a word from anyone. In fact, if you are making your own tracks, I would just keep it to yourself just so you don't have to deal with all of the judgement that can come from this and other forums. There are a LOT of homemade tracks that have been put into circulation over the past 1/4 century and I have yet to hear of anyone getting in trouble.

You will also find that people are NOT using tools as sophisticated as Adobe Audition very often for karaoke. At least not on a broad scale. *MOST* karaoke people don't even want to pay for their music much less for software related to karaoke.

Hey Chris,

Thanks for the info. I'm realizing Audition isn't as commonly used as I thought. Could be the cost as you mentioned. But I look for quality. A good rendition of the original. Not all songs but the ones I seem to favor. Thanks again Chris for your insight.
