Too often, threads go off into the weeds and I would rather they not even show up when I click the "View Unread Posts" link. I would like to be able to ignore an entire thread if possible.

Ditto. I think there is a mod that has been done:

I have a crude Greasemonkey script that does that, but it requires some stuff and is too fragile.

How would you know, if you don't read the posts..... what's next......the ability to be invisible.... :)
This place is really starting to suck, and the posts have gone down to trickle. In my opinion, it's because of attitudes like this, and if this site shuts down, don't forget I told everyone so, more than once....... hey, just my opinion, though valuable information can really flow on here, it it still a social site.
It's no fun when people come here with their nose up in the air.
ps....If I don't get a sh!t load of likes on this one.....I'm the one in the wrong place........ I won't leave, though, but I will get a haircut!..... :)

Those of us with inferior intellects can't handle the massive information dump that is all of the posts. 8-) So we pick and choose. This is just a way of making it automatic...

I don't find it offensive if someone wants to automatically weed out some threads--maybe they aren't into Singer's Showcase, etc. But to make a big announcement about it being due to not liking how people post on here seems like an unneccesary insult that just adds to the hostile atmosphere. It's like when people announce that they have someone on "ignore" instead of just plain ignoring them.

 love the irony........and now that you mention massive and dump in the same sentence.......I need to go see a man about a dog, and finish some business I related to in a post, I made a few seconds ago......literally....I gotta run.....

Let me look into that.... I know that there was a modification that allowed members to ignore members and their posts. Maybe there is a mod to ignore certain threads.

@mckyj57 - That script is no longer supported - usually because it no longer functions with the new codes.

I suppose I could make a back up then install and see if it works. However, the link to the code is no longer vaild.

I will continue to locate another similar modification.

Phil, I would like a feature, that would render my posts invisible, until somebody that is using the ignore feature, has been reading a post for 30 seconds.......then my post would magically appear in place of the post they were reading.... :)
