Post subject:  New to Karaoke - need feedback so I don't make bad decisions

New - but quick study...

Wife is 20 yr pro singer in CW and since we entertain alot at home, she of course is asked to hum a few bars now and then...well, I'm not one to do anything half way -- none of these karaoke system packed in a mic for me..

So, when asking for a quote, I mentioned it was for home "outdoor entertaining" HOWEVER, should the bug strike (and causes her to want to go back on stage for a few gigs, OR, if I get the bug to do some club hosting, I wanted a system that perhaps would be great at home but not inferior should I host (don't want to be laughed out of the club and not get any more jobs should I decide to host...)

So naturally I ask, is the items locally quoted sound ok for "outdoor Home use" or is it overkill/underkill or whatever ....

Keep in mind, the local Karaoke store must charge 8.6% tax (WA State) and out of state comparisons may eliminate that???? But then there isshipping to be considered also...

So, 1) what do you think on price, and 2) are items quoted good quality sound and compatible units, overkill, underkill...what ever?????

Appreciate anyones input...(sorry for the long message folks!)

By the way if I were using a 362 with main speakers and subs I would run a separate amp for the subs something along the line if a pv-1500

BBE 362: Great Price
JVC 22 Single tray player: Too high, If you shop around on line you can probably get the Triple Tray for that price.

I've heard a lot of concern for the Triple tray... mostly based on the Pioneer twin. After eight months, I've never had one single problem with it... and yes, I've accidently bumped it a couple times! Very solid unit!

The BBE 362 can be bought for $99 through Musicians Friend.
The JVC Triple Tray can be bought for $267 each through Karaoke.com
The JVC XL-SV22BK can be bought for $197 each through Karaoke.com
The Behringer UB1622FX can be bought for $180 new through Musiciansfriend.com or a factory reseal (same warranty) for $162.

If you really want Cerwin Vegas - these are better for DJ work & not so much karaoke - but that's a decent price for them. If you really want that type of speaker, i'd go with the Peavey SP4 $640 each through Musicians Friend. These are better for live (which karaoke is semi live) - they will have a better quality & handle more power. With these you really do not need a sub.
The Crown amp is the right price.

You could probably get a little better pricing on the cases & wiring through Musicians Friend as well.
