Hi all,
New user here.
Just bought an Alesis Multimix4 usb mixer for my laptop.
I downloaded ASIO4 drivers and it works fine.
However, what I want to do is sing along with online karaoke tracks and record.
The online karaoke tracks are played by default sound card and the mic hooked up is via the USB mixer.
I am using a free software called Mixpad mixer from NCH.
When I select default sound card for recording, it only records karaoke and when I select ASIO, it only records my vocals from USB mixer.
How do I record both karaoke track from laptop's sound card along with vocal from USB mixer? :?
Thanks for suggestions.

Is it not necessary to send the audio from the online content through the mixer as well as the vocals to be able to record them simultaneously?

I tried that but then it still records one source not both.

hiteck,
I think that's what I have to do. :thinkin:
I'll send output from laptop to 1/4 input using stereo to RCA Y adapter on the mixer and then use ASIO for recording.
That may work.

I was hoping may be software can mix those two together for a final output.
I guess not... :?

Yes when I send the default sound card's output to LR input on the mixer, the USB sound device records all together but it used the only stereo input available in the mixer. :(
May be I need a bigger mixer.
But for now I can use this for vocals + online karaoke using this small mixer.
Thanks for the idea. I should have thought of it but my expectation was software could combine in the laptop but it doesn't. grrr...
