Everybody puts out a bad track now and then, some more than others. I can think of a few myself that we released that I wish I could take back ((@$%&#!) by Meredith Brooks still haunts me ... ouch WTF was I thinking?). So with that being said, what songs would be better off being redone if possible. I'm referring strictly to the audio, and not the graphics part.

Journey - Remember Me needs to be completely redone, not even close to being accurate to the real song and that's audio and lyrics.

There was a recent discussion regarding (on FB) "The Impression That I Get" by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones... there's not a decent version among the 5 or 6 that have been produced.

SC's is off tempo with overwhelming gain on certain parts.

CAV's, MM and NT all use the same track and the horns just don't cut it.

KV put the song out and it is just so-so.

While I am not a huge fan of anyone's Version of 'One - Three Dog Night' written by Harry Nilsson, I definitely think SC should have done it with Autotune (if autotune was out when they attempted it) or scrapped it altogether.

The background vocals are horrid. You call that harmony ??????????

Good information to know. I'm keeping a list of these as I see them should I ever decide to produce again.

Believe it or not I think I just had the 1st request for that song last week. I played the Sweet Georgia Brown version and If I remember correctly it was pretty good audiowise. I must have been too busy to notice video because I do not recall. My assumption is that it was OK because I did not get a complaint from the singer.

I'll have to check that version again and compare it to youtube.

Totally different arrangement from the original recording. I am a Journey purest. Unless it's a live feel version of the song, to divert from the original is a sin in my opinion.

Sound Choice - Hurt - Johnny Cash
I prefer it over the CB version but -

Love this version until it builds near the end and the sustained organ/synth notes get WAAAY too loud for the mix.
I like the sound of it, and it does help build the emotion driving towards the final spoken line but it is actually painful to the ears when played with any real volume. That, and the dog starts howling(of course that could just be my singing).

Paraphrasing C.W. McCall - "Mercy sakes, better back it off another ten."

For the longest time, "Mr. Jones" by Counting Crows was my karaoke kryptonite. I forget which version I kept getting, but the timing was so far off that I couldn't get through the song properly.

Chartbusters, Everly Brothers disc is horrid,
the back up singers were most likely being
tortured, when it was cut in the studio.maybe
there are better versions of the fifteen songs,
I for one, do not know.

Sweet Georgia Btown - I've said this umpteen times, but I'll say it again. Whomever produced that weird al disk should be shot! Only available version of 'grapefruit diet' and it is absolutely unlistenable.

'3 little pigs' - Green jelly. Only available on Nutech, which i refuse to use just on principle alone. 90% midi crap.

That one is probably one of their better tracks - definitely not midi. I use that one all the time.

KV's version of Journey - Separate Ways. The keyboards are terrible, and much of the song is just kind of weak.

Icecream Man, Van Halen. The audio is so weak. I have to bring the audio into Cakewalk and increase it. It still isn't what it needs to be.

KV Ice Cream Man is pretty good, replaced my SC version with it

Nothing to do with the music quality, but it still bugs me that the Sound Choice version of Tom Jones "Green, Green Grass of Home" says "For there's a GOD, and a there's a sad old padre", when it should be "For there's a GUARD and there's a sad old padre...

Not the first mistake SC has made lyrically. Four tries at Journey's Faithfully and all have lyrical errors. The original Spotlight version had 'round my mind in the first verse instead of You're on my mind. And all of them have I'm forever yours forever yours at the end of the song when it was supposed to be I'm forever yours Ever Yours. You would think that after four tries, Spotlight mixed disc, Spotlight artist disc, Foundation 2 disc and GEM Series disc, that they would have perfected the lyrics on the song. It only took Priddis, SBI, Amerising, Radio Starz and Karaoke Version one try to provide perfect lyrics for that song. I personally think that SBI's and Karaoke Version's attempts are the best lyrically accurate and Best audio track that have been made but I prefer the live feel of the audio. Legends has the best version of Send Her My Love.
