My partner woke up with a song in their head: The Flys "Got You Were I Want You". After doing a quick search, I told them we didn't have the track, and that I would try to find it.

After looking on all the legal sites for a downloadable version that I know of, it seems it's only available on CD's from Sound Choice, Ameri-Sing, and a code I don't know (POHT9812? Pop Hits maybe?)

Off to eBay, and a few clicks later I bought the CD, but I paid a pretty penny for it, and of course, it was the ONLY song I needed on the entire CD. The cost: $16.00.

$16.00, for one song, crazy! Normally, I wouldn't spend so much for single song, but it's the person I wake up with every day, so... worth it!

But it made me wonder, what is the most expensive track that my fellow karaoke folks hunted and paid for?

I've paid $45 for one song on an SC disc. Probably in the last year or 2.

The most I've ever paid for any track is $5 dollars. On an SC custom disc, 10 song minimum @ 5 bucks each. (but I bought 10 of them at a time)

How about talking about the "Least" paid for a song/disk?

Last month, 4 CD+G disks @ $2.00 each.. Used, no scratches..
One was That skinny ho, T something..

Just FYI, that song appears on 4 production discs, so you might not have to pay that much:

AMS1056-06
POHT9812-09
SC2102-08
SC8490-07

A quick search, someone is selling the AMS1056 disc on EBay for $5.99.

PHT is Pop Hits Today, not Pop Hits Monthly.

Take the O out of the code as it is most definitely Pop Hits Today.

PHOT9812 is Pop Hits Today. The Amerising track is the same exact track.

A couple of years ago, I paid $35 to acquire Dog And Butterfly by Heart for a friend who is a big fan. It was the only song on the disc that I needed because I already had the rest, and it was the only disc I could find at the time, so I paid what I had to pay. It was for a special occasion.

$50 USD to get the Sing King disc from Canada with "Star Baby" right after it was first issued. It was for a very special person. Y'know I was looking at the invoice several years later reviewing old paperwork and realized they'd done the currency conversion backwards! It should only have been about $35 USD at the time -- all you can do is laugh sometimes. For the person I was getting it for it was still worth it.

That's a good disc (if you are talking 8346), at least 10 songs get done fairly regular here.

Well, call me a sucker or call me stupid, but I have all of you beat. I paid $75 back in 2010 (to one of the members right here on K-Scene) to make me a custom track... "Back When My Hair Was Short" by Gun Hill Road.

cueball, I can picture you singing that song! :P
Beat us you did! That's the price we pay for what
we want. 75.00 a pop you say, at that rate I'm in
the hole for about 1500 to 2000! i wish one of
powers that be, could release a compilation of
the lesser known, or never released songs, that
are listed in the song request forums. But, One
Can Only Wish!

Actually the price varied. If I had wanted a longer song, it would have cost more. For example, this guy was asking $150 for Frank Zappa's "Ti**ies and Beer." I passed on that one.

$150 for ti**ies and beer! Whooeee! I would have broke down,
and cried all over those, uh I mean that! heh heh, Guess I'll
have to double down and dig deeper! I like to sing a few of
the longer ballad type songs.
