I Know each and every karaoke venue is different,
When it comes to Singers and the Songs they sing.
Some have a new song every week, and some just
Plod along with the few they sing, happy as can be!
Peopie are people and will do as they like! So be it!
My Question is,When you listen to Others sing, Can
You hear songs that perfectly match their voices?
And do you share your Choices with them? I have a
Few songs I wish someone would sing, Where have
All the Cowboys gone, and Sunny came Home. Do
You Have Any Favorite's, You would like to share?

This wasn't at Karaoke but at a concert in a small town green. A female had just done a perfect rendention of Me And Bobby McGee so when the band took a break, I told one of the members that I thought she could pull off Piece of my heart as well.

Thank you for your response, DannyG2006, I hear ya!
Im amazed at how easy women can broadcast their
Voices with unbridled power! My sister, can Boom out
A bona-fide rendition of Bobby McGee, but won't touch,
Piece of my heart!

One of my semi-regular singers is a carpenter/handyman by trade, and a helluva singer whenever he chooses to come out to a karaoke gig. Although he has his own unique voice, he can mimic Elvis, Neil Diamond, and even Roy Orbison to a "T". His Sinatra and Bobby Darin are amazing. He's easily as good as any of the several tribute artists I've seen and heard.

I'm just one of many people who've begged him to develop a show.. in fact, I've volunteered to supply whatever sound & lighting equipment needed, and even Emcee if he wanted. But he's more than happy to be building garages and renovating basements for people.

Sometimes people severely underestimate their own capabilities, and I think he falls into this category. He's also just celebrated his 52nd birthday, and probably thinks he's too old.

To get back to the original question... I asked him one evening to do a song that really grabs me... namely "Brother Love's Travelling Medicine Show", and he did an amazing job. You'd likely say he "knocked it out of the park", or as they say in Newfoundland, he "ripped the arse out of er"...
