I just got an email from Big Hits Karaoke offering a nice set of modern karaoke tracks.......{snip}

Many manufacturers are still in business but not producing new tracks.

Sybersound, Sunfly, SBI & Zoom have been releasing new tracks of good quality.

Can someone give a list of disc manufactures that are still in business, or is easier to say which are now defunked. thanks.

What? ... just google those disk types and you will get all the info you need as far as manufactures contact details. The list is just a reference defunct or not.

OP wanted a list of manufacturers, so I provided a list. 2nd he wanted to know if they were still in business, at the bottom of list i mentioned some of the top providers for karaoke songs.

KNF I used to feel like the other KJs pick on you a lot about "reading is fundamental", but I now totally agree with everybody, you just don't comprehend what you're reading.

KNF just doesn't comprehend properly, most of those manufacturers haven't been in business since the mid 2000's or earlier. Are you looking for just 'disc' manufacturers, or those companies that produce downloads as well? Discs All Star - nothing real recent for about a year now, but produce discs, custom discs and downloads Karaoke.net - about a year old in the states, but coming along nicely. They distribute Party Tyme tracks, also acquired the Pocket Songs library and distribute Tropical Zone (Spanish/Latino). Produce custom discs and downloads. Party Tyme still make discs. Zoom, Sunfly, Mr Entertainer - all UK brands still make discs but you usually need to purchased through UK 3rd party sources/retailers like www.kingsbridgekaraoke.co.uk or http://www.amazon.co.uk , not directly from the manufacturer. karaoke-version.com is a download site only, but have many hard to find/obscure tracks along with the standards. sbikaraoke.com is download only (in states), custom disc ability to the rest of the world. There are other brands here and there but these are the primary goto's for most kj's.

Now, why would I want to waste my time Googling (let's say) "Pioneer," only to obtain their contact info and then call to find out they no longer do anything Karaoke related anymore (and haven't in well over 10 years)? The OP was asking for a list of Current Manufacturers (still in business) OR a list of those who are no longer in business (defunct), NOT EVERY SINGLE MANUFACTURER that ever existed. The least you could have done was add "Still in Business" or "Defunct" after each name.

You can not ask a simple question that is not specific. Because many manufactures of karaoke are mostly bootleggers. The few I mentioned below the list are authorized Sunfly, Sybersound, SBI. Etc... Sorry if I miss-informed anyone.
