The overall look is nice, the purple font on the black background is a little hard on the eyes. Also the text box's being black is harder to pinpoint.
Did posts get deleted? I went from 100+ to 71???

 I think that it's GREAT and easy to look at . I'm glad that you have made some changes. I really enjoy the Karaoke Scene coming from a KJ point of view. The only thing that I am dissappointed with is how the KJ contest is run for the Karaoke Fest! No one is truly voted on their skill and ability to run a great show with the best sounding equipment , or the best rotation by proffesional experienced judges. It's by you begging your clients to vote for you on the internet. That to me is insulting. I know I work hard at perfecting my skills as a KJ to run the best show for my clients. However, popularity does not prove skill. Who would I express my feelings on the matter?.

I just arrived, and will have to check it out for a couple of days, and then cast my vote! Looks nice, so far though!

I like the fact that you can review the prior comments at the same time as you're typing a reply. It is a lot easier to navigate and it's easier on the eyes. I am, however, disappointed that I went from a Junior Member to a Newbie and that my avator disappeared. Were some of my posts erased? :?:

Post subject:  :: FYI ::

[edit]Some posts were eliminated however that would have no effect on your rank.[/edit]
--------------------------
 CLARIFICATION:

Yes, actually some posts were eliminated when I transferred the forum from ikonboard to phpBB This may have changed your post count which would have changed your rank. (Sorry! - Just post some more, then you'll be back there or better!) In the future when posts are eliminated through this board; it will have no effect on your rank!

NOTE: Posts that have not been replied to in over 90 days will automatically be deleted - this saves server space.
---------------------------

 What did occur is the settings and ranks have been modified.

See: http://www.karaokescene.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=330
for further explanation on member ranks...

 BTW - I am working on some additional ranks...
More on that as information becomes available.

thx

I likes it, I likes it alot!

Okay - first time poster, long time viewer.
(Sounds like a radio talk show intro)

I really like the new layout the colors are easy to read and the navigation is better.

Just my 2 cents worth...

(BTW) I am responding to what someone post here. This may not be the place to respond to this but since they posted it here I am going to respond here, so forgive me if this is wrong.

The KJ contest is extremely fair it is not a popularity contest, well not directly. :?

Last year according to Karaoke Scene Magazine and in the What's New Section (April/May '02 ) "There were thousands of votes casts." I don't know how many people can have that large of a following

Although not personally a KJ, and I don't play one on TV, I feel that this system works well. If you are popular and have a good following - well it must be that you have a quality show, provide quality sound, and offer exceptional service. These folks have worked hard and are deserving of being recognized for their efforts. It takes time and dedication to create a QUALITY Karaoke Show. I personally have attended many venues and know that there are some excellent shows out there and then there are those that should stick to their day job. - Sorry but you know it's true! Further, many KJs visit other shows and they too voted, I am certain, for those people they feel did offer exceptional services.

:!: :!: :!:
KaraokeFest 2002 - was a tremendous success, ask anyone who attended. I hope this year's KaraokeFest will be even better, if that is possible!

Thanks and I apologize for rambling

LOOKS GOOD, NICE TO SEE A CHANGE, GOOD JOB....CAL

I really like the new scheme. I also love the additional HTML features. I love to play with HTML so its going to be much more fun. One gripe: I wish that the avatar file size wasn't reduced to 15kb. 26-30kb would be nice or an auto shrink function.

On the issue of losing posts: When the webman first proposed changing the site he basically asked the members for their opinions. He said that a change would probably erase all posts and we would have to all start again from newbie status. I was very happy to see that I still had 200 left out of my original 700.

The site was being hacked and bearing that in mind and the work it must take webman to get it back up and running, A few posts sacrificed is no biggie.

Thanx for the compliment and I hope you enjoy the new functions.

Sorry that I wasn't able to retrieve all posts but as you said we had to sacrifice a few as opposed to all!

Further, you may notice that there is a new function that has been included:

Check out UserGroups!
-> You will see that there are a few offered to the general public. These are mostly for fun, but can provide some info to the other visitors, like the Usergroup KJ - Join this group if, and please, ONLY if you are a KJ. This will let people know. Also there is one called Karaoke Chickens! Big Jimmy C you are a member.

Enjoy!

NOTE: Re-set the avatars so that you may upload up to 30KB (30000 bytes)

Thanks Webman. I don't know if there are any of the original chicken people still here besides Steve(Love That Karaoke). I hope you haven't condemned me to a life of empty chicken coops. LOL!

My Opinion:

"You asked for it
You got it -
Toyota..."
- commercial interuption -

I looks good - strange color scheme but then again it does match the site.
  • I think that the link color in the signature could improve. Maybe use the blue - anyone else agree?
  • Change the box to the left to the same the gold is a bit much?
  • I am waiting on the other MODs you mentioned - when?
  • I would like to see another option for the layout maybe a lighter shade for those of us with poor vision. Dark backgrounds are hard on the eyes...

IMHO

Post subject:  AWESOME!

This design just screams karaoke. Cool, slick nighttime colors fit perfectly with the karaoke theme. I just don't think how you could have done a better job. You scored a home run, grand slam, touch down, the works. And I'm not just pulling your chain. I really dig the new look. Don't ever change it. This should be the standard for all cyberspace nightclub hangouts. This place rocks!
