Hi All!
I've been Singing Karaoke for about 12 years, I guess. Filled in as a KJ once ('bout 10 years ago). Just love to sing and when I do, nobody throws things at me and nobody has blood coming from their ears. So I keep doing it!

Made friends with the owner of a local KJ company (Sky High DJs) and he's been helping me piece together a karaoke set up for my living room. I've finally got it running using a borrowed mixer from him. Mine is coming tomorrow! I do this purely for fun but someday may venture out into the bar/party world to do it as a paid hobby. But my minimal CDG collection will have to grow substantially. (All legally, of course!) I've been buying and burning them all onto an external harddrive.

Well anyway, that's me! Name is Brian, but ID is WBrian.

Later,
Brian

Welcome Brian:

Lots of good information here. You can read for hours and learn a lot about the industry. Not always answers, but definitely passionate discussion.

Best of luck!

Not to revive a dead thread, or anything but...
Thanks for the welcome. Nothing has changed, still doing it for fun in my living room, and might start doing a bar gig at a place we hang out at. But really need to grow my library. I'm using Sax N Dotty's Show Presenter (not the pro version). Any thoughts on this software for a bar show?
What's the best way, these days, to expand my library?
Thanks!
B.

Wow talk about a later response to a 'Hi' thread......

Dump Sax & Dotty, get OpenKJ - it's totally free pro hosting software, getting better everyday, excellent customer support and has Party Tyme/karaoke.net store built in so you can buy your songs as you need them. It even has free phone app software that works with it so your singers can look up your library on their phone, great search system to find if songs were made or are available through other sources that surpasses iCroons
