I hear, "the more you drink the better we sound" and "come on up and I'll make you a star" quite a bit. Just wondering what are the popular phrases you hear at karaoke.

Not a big fan of ..and try not to use myself as a KJ but the phrase
KARAOKE VIRGIN gets used anytime a singer confesses they never sang karaoke before. LOL --I guess it depends on the crowd whether I use it or not LOL

From a KJ after a really bad singer finishes their song: "That was a truly noble effort!"

Does your KJ follow that up with "Looks like this virgin just lost her Cherry-oke"

My personal favorite came from my husband...after a couple of guys came up and did a completely idiotic version (meant to be) of a girl's song in a falsetto with interpretive dance that was particularly painful to listen to and watch, he said, "Now go sit down and think about what you've done." It got a sizeable laugh from the crowd, as well as the guys who did the song.

I confess that I've used it (successfully) a couple of time since.
