I am making my annual trip with my father, East this time -- to various Revolutionary War battlefields. Hey, we needed some sort of excuse.

One of my main purposes is karaoke, of course, and to that end I am going to be in:

Sat Apr. 5           -- Hendersonville, NC
Sun    6               -- High Point, NC
 Mon/Tue 7/8     -- Yorktown, NC
Wed. 9th            -- Branchburg, NJ (north of Trenton)
Thu. 10th           -- Ft. Lee, Morristown, NJ
 Fri-Sat 11-12     -- Saratoga Springs, NY
Sun 13th            -- Saranac Lake, NY
 Mon/Tue 14-15 -- Sackets Harbor, NY
 Wed-Sat  16-19 -- Buffalo, NY
 Sun-Wed 20-23 -- Cleveland, OH

If anyone has a gig nearby -- and I will drive 40 miles or even a bit more -- I would be pleased to visit!

 mckyj57,

When you get around to the REVOLUTIONARY WAR battlegrounds, ( not trying to heist the post ) you come up MY way. Bunker Hill, Lexington Green, talk about your regular Freedom Trail. It all started here. We could have a regular "Boston Tea Party".......with karaoke!!!! :hi5:

Ah, that was a previous trip before I sang, back in 2004. I will be up with my wife in spring of 2009, though, and we will check you out then!

Absolutely! PM me and let me know where it is, if you would. (Though just posting the address and time without other info would probably get by the promo police.)

Yup -- we did Antietam, Bull Run, Fredricksburg, and Gettysburg a few years ago.  Not to mention Ft. McHenry for the war of 1812.

I didn't sing then, so no karaoke. I forget what I did in the evenings!

Mcky

Used to live in NJ

While you maybe familiar with where Ft Lee and Morristown are located, I think you may want to check where Branchville is!

Oops, just realized you said BranchBURG.  Not familiar with it.
Sorry!

Left NJ 18 years ago so I have no suggestions re Karaoke venues

That sounds like a fun trip.  I hope you have a hybrid car because gas prices as you get up to NY are ridiculous!!!

Hi mckyj57,

A fellow karaoke friend of mine who lives in my town in Central NY does Civil War re-enactments all over the east.  He plays General Lee.

We are very, very, casual history buffs. Not intense like that. 8-)

That reminds me of what someone said once about seeing some classic rock'n'roll band with a singer in the 60s. They said, "It's not like seeing the band -- it's like seeing a Civil War re-enactment of the band". I about fell on the floor laughing....

Tomorrow night, Saturday, I will be in Hendersonville. No web resources that I found, and no one answered up here, so I will be using my usual methods for finding karaoke -- asking at the hotel desk, the waiter at the restaurant, finding the Friday night gig and going there and asking where they play Saturday, etc.

When you get to Buffalo, go to http://www.buffalonews.com, then click on Entertainment, then Gusto.  Scroll down for Bars & Clubs, then scroll down some more for the Karaoke listings.  You should have plenty to choose from!

Excellent! Exactly the type of info I am looking for.

How am I going to find your show?

Went to the last thing I would have expected in New Jersey last night -- "Country Karaoke". A country-and-western line dance bar in Mt. Holly had karaoke, and I had a real good time. Sang "Too Gone Too Long", "Blue Clear Sky", "Ramblin' Man", "Round About Way", and "Find Out Who Your Friends Are".

Tonight I am farther north in NJ, at Hazlet. Having dinner with a friend, but I will be looking for karaoke later (after 10pm).

I live and host in northern NJ, near the site of the Baylor Massacre, and a few miles away from where Andre' was hanged.......

Go to karaokelistings.com and click on NJ. You will find me and others for every day of the week. Just be sure to call and verify....

I don't know how I missed your post, Joe. I am sorry I couldn't meet you -- Northern NJ was my one night where I had a commitment with non-karaoke friends. 8-)

Later on, I ended up taking over an open-mic night for karaoke (Holiday Inn in Hazlett), and the people had a blast singing from my laptop-carried karaoke collection.

I had a great time in New York, doing karaoke in Saratoga Springs (Round Lake and Frederick Corners), then twice in Syracuse. Now I spend 4 days in Buffalo, then finally 4 in Cleveland to round out the trip. So far I have missed karaoke on 2 nights out of 12 due to lack of availability.

hey mckyj57,

When are you arriving in Cleveland on Sunday? If you are in the downtown area before 8 or 9:00 PM Sunday evening there's a pretty cool new show at this place:

http://www.pickwickandfrolic.com/Press% ... y%20PR.pdf

Haven't been since it was just starting up so I'm not sure how it's doing but it was fun. It's a cabaret set up with a stage, lights and a bit more of a "show" than a typical bar.

In addition to Pickwick, there's a whole range of shows in the area Sun-Wed within 5-10 miles of downtown Cleveland, from small tavern type places with mellow crowds to neighborhood joints that cater more to the younger rock/alternative set to live music joints that do karaoke on the off nights.

PM me if you'd like more details.
