This question is for any one familiar with the CAVS JB-99. OK, I am an exoerienced KJ who has used laserdiscs and CDG for years. I use Music Book deluxe for my songbooks. I recently purchased a CAVS JB-99 loaded with about 12.000 songs from DKK Milleniem, Pop Hits Monthly, and Music Maestro. (In case you are wondering, they are all legal, I paid for all of it). I need to:
1. delete several doubles and fix typos.
2. print songbooks sorted by artist.

I have the CAVS JB-99 hooked up to my PC, and I have edited several hundred songs, saved, only to find out that when I shut down, then boot up again to continue this arduos task, none of my work has been saved! What am I doing wrong? I need to get songbooks printed and get this unit out and operating in a week! Any help on the proper procedure to making a songbook up, (for what's going to be about 11,000 songs when I'm through deleting doubles), would be greatly appreciated.

mg, you just can't be nice... can ya?

The Cavs isn't the problem... if it's played on a good system, any player will do just fine. There is virtually NO difference from the MP3+G version to the .bin version (which is what standard cdg files are)!

fine, to answer your question, I'm afraid I can't help you. You might try the website of Cavs... back when I had the jukebox... I remember the website had a good forum for asking questions, and having their tech support answer you back.

Matt

One recommendation. I use the MBD software. I know at the MBD website they have an entirely different section for cav's vs CDG's, So although I might be blowing smoke, here's a recommendation. After you make your edits, etc. maybe "save to" an entirely new file name on your computer so that maybe you can get to it the next time you go to open the book. If is does as you described, maybe you can open the newly named file. The only other thing I can think of is maybe go to the tech assist area on the MBD website - they should be able to get ya where ya need to be. I had to do that to get started as my virus scan and firewall software interferred with the way their site runs its interactive matters. Hope that helps.

Thank you very much, I appreciate the vote of confidence. I do believe in keeping it lite and funny and firmly tongue in cheek. This board is a blast especially after a late night gig. I come from the early Van Halen school of rock ( minus the booze and drugs ) so dont take it TOOOOOOOO seriously. peace love karaoke, love rokkenroke
